HONOURING THE FIGHTING SPIRIT OF PEMULWUY

A Bidjigal man from the Botany Bay area of Sydney, Pemulwuy was a warrior who fought against the colonisation that threatened Indigenous communities across the country.

By naming Redfern’s iconic redevelopment after this hero, Pemulwuy’s passionate spirit lives on, ensuring the identity and culture of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people continue to be handed down to future generations.
